Vulcan County, Alberta
Vulcan County sits in one of the sunniest parts of Alberta, and the people farming here already know it. Which means the conversation is usually different in Vulcan. Nobody needs convincing that the sun works. The question is whether it works on your operation, at your scale, on your bill.
Most of Vulcan County is dryland — wheat, barley, canola, peas, flax, and increasingly chickpeas and fava beans. Farms here run large: a significant share are over 1,600 acres. Big land base, big yard sites, and no shortage of room for a ground mount.
